BSC: Core Facility

The BSC was established in 2016/2017 and is backed by permanent funding from the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at FU Berlin. Two permanent staff positions serve as co-lead of the BSC, with additional planned staff according to project demand.

Our Environmental Impact

The Freie Universität Berlin actively supports and promotes sustainability [1] and has established a dedicated unit for
sustainability and energy early on [2].
As an IT-driven group, our environmental footprint is strongly determined by energy consumption. Our infrastructure is continuously optimized via centralization, virtualization of servers and hardware upgrades to minimize our carbon footprint.
